27 September 2009 is an important day in the I-Kuan Tao community in Australia. It marks the inauguration of Australia (Nationwide) I-Kuan Tao Headquarters. Melbourne Tian Di Prayer Hall is honoured to be chosen as the Australian headquarters for the I-Kuan Tao community.

The day started early as guests from overseas as well as interstate representing the different divisions of I-Kuan Tao converged at Tian Di Payer Hall. Tian Di Prayer Hall taokins were out in numbers as well as we were playing hosts to a history-making event. The overseas congratulatory parties included those from Taiwan and Malaysia. We were honoured to have many senior members of I-Kuan Tao grace us with their presence. Among then included Senior Grand Master Mdm Chan, Grand Master Lim (Bao Guang Jian De) and Grand Master Lee Yu-Chu.

The inauguration started with the unveiling of the new name plaque by Senior Grand Master Mdm Chan and Moreland City Councillor John Kavanagh. It was followed by speeches from Mr Peter Lee (Australian I-Kuan Tao President), Councillor John Kavanagh, Rev Dirk Ficca (executive Director of the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions) and Mr Yu-Chu Lee (Taiwan I-Kuan Tao President).

With the conclusion of the official event, our overseas and intersate guests were treated to a ten course vegetarian lunch meticulously prepared by our 'kitchen Buddhas' who have volunteered their time and effort in the preparation for the day.

Thank you to all members who have given their time and efforts in making this event a susccessful one.
