Great success for 2009 at Coburg Lake.

Members were out again in force for Clean Up Australia Day 2009 that occured on 1 March 2009. As per previous years, the clean up site assigned was Coburg Lake.

On a cool day, the clean up started in the morning and ended around midday. This was followed by a picnic style lunch which was prepred by our wonderful chefs back at the Prayer Hall.

It was pleasing to report that the number of bags of rubbish have fallen from previous years. However cigarette butts were once again the bane of the rubbish. Although small, they play a big part in the pollution that they cause.

Thanks to all those who participated in the event and hope to see you next year. Remember - If we don't clean up Australia, who will!
